Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang & Harry Winston jewellery. Despite having missed out on ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy’ to Jessica Lang, Sofia Vergara was still my winner of the night. My favourite Colombian comedy actress walked the red carpet at the 69th annual Golden Globes last night in an astonishing curve grabbing, mermaid-esque strapless gown. In a red carpet interview, Sofia explained that she felt “like 5 million bucks” in her midnight blue Vera Wang ensemble. Sofia went on to have a successful night stealing the show with her memorable acceptance speech for ‘Best TV Series’ on behalf of the rest of the Modern Family cast. The native Colombian accepted the award in Spanish explaining that as the prize was international, they will be receiving it in two languages, and received a fantastic reception from the audience.

Lea Michele in Marchesa and Lorraine Schwartz Jewellery: After Lea’s successful night in her white all-fringe Marchesa dress at the People’s Choice awards on the 11th of January 2012, she continued the trend wearing a gown from the Marchesa Spring 2012 Collection, at the Golden Globes last night. Michele - along with the rest of the Glee cast - were all there to support Glee’s nomination for ‘Best TV Series’, that unfortunately lost out to Modern Family. The Glee cast however were not left disheartened as Lea went on to tweet her congratulations on twitter after the show “Congrats to everyone who was nominated and won tonight! Especially the amazing cast of ModernFamily!” @msleamichele

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace & Christian Louboutin Clutch: Angelina - who attended the Golden Globes last night after her film ‘In The Land of Blood and Honey’ was nominated in the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category as well as in support of her husband Brat Pitt, who was nominated for ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture’ for his role in ‘Moneyball’ - bedazzled us all in her red and cream Atelier Versace number. She paired it with a Christian Louboutin clutch and wore dark red lipstick to finish the look. Despite Brad Pitt losing out to George Clooney and ‘In The Land of Blood and Honey’ failed to win, Angelina was definitely the talk of the night.

I can imagine it being quite the task to style a 13 year old without seeming too babyish or too grown up and I feel this dress was the perfect choice.

2011 Emmy Awards, best & worst dressed

best dressed:

Nina Dobrev the 22 year old star of The Vampire Diaries looked exquisite on Sunday’s 63rd primetime emmy awards. She wore an incredible perfectly fitted gown by Donna Karan that really showed off her jaw dropping physique. Something I really love about this outfit is the choker piece she wore from Neil Lane. Chokers are a regular jewellery piece on red carpets but she really wore it well. I did watch the Fashion Police Emmy Special yesterday and Kelly Osborne seemed to disagree greatly. However like the choker or not there is no denying she looks outstanding from head to toe. She topped it all off with some Brian Atwood shoes and a Judith Leiber clutch.

Having never watched Modern Family before I was unfamiliar with Sarah Hyland until I saw her Lea Michelle impersonation on Fashion Police (seems I watch this show a lot haha). I think she is a beautiful young girl and these photos do not do her justice. She wore a beautiful custom made Christian Siriano dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and Giuseppe Zanotti heels. I think the dress is perfect for her and being 20 years old completely age appropriate which I always personally look out for on the Red Carpet.

Games of Thrones star Lena Headley was definitely the dark horse of the night. In an all black Alexander McQueen long-sleeved gown, a Judith Leiber clutch, Wilfredo Rosado earrings and florescent pink Brian Atwood shoes i feel Lena really took a risk. In all black she could have easily looked gothic however I think she hit the classic look perfectly. The black nail may have been a little too much however.

worst dressed:

Julianna Margulies, Heidi Klum & Zooey Deschanel were my worst dressed of the night. Zoeey Deschanel was my ultimate disappointment, in my opinion she is one of the coolest women in Hollywood and I always look forward to her looks but this Monique Lhuillier pink floor length strapless did not do anything for me, I do not like the red and pink together and it seems too long. It might have been ok as a shorter dress with a different colour ribbon but even then I would expect more from Zooey Deschanel at the Emmys. I liked the original concept of Julianna’s Giorgio Armani Privé gown however I hated the length and the material was really thick and seemed like a blanket and she ended up looking a bit like a strange mermaid. Heidi Klum always looks stunning and I am in love with her Christian Louboutins. however her Christian Siriano one of a kind dress was too much.

South Korean born Shini Park from http://www.parkandcube.com/ is one of my all time blogging inspirations, I have been lucky enough to work with her on the Take10 project a year back and briefly meet her at London Fashion Week September 2010. Shini originally from Seoul, but raised in Warsaw (Poland) moved to London in 2006 where she discovered her adoration for fashion. She uses a Canon 5D Mark II with Canon 50mm f1.4 and Tamron 75-300mm f4 lenses and has been known to use various film cameras. She explains that her photos are “taken by anybody and everybody who I can inconvenience with the favour, so it's my mother, my boyfriend, friends... blog friends, PRs... I do all the settings according to the light, hand it over and let them know how I'd like it to be framed. “ As for her photoshoots, she usually looks for really quiet but characteristic streets in London, “something classic-looking or just very good symmetry or style in architecture.”

Sandra, originally from Finland, lives in London and studies fashion design at London college of fashion. Her boyfriend who she lives with and her friend Tasha takes her photos with Sandra’s Canon EOS 500D which she highly recommends. She started her blog http://www.5inchandup.blogspot.com just after she moved to London for college in summer 2009. However she was a regular blog reader years before but felt the best time to create her own was when she “…finally got [her] life in order and moved to London.” After being a regular reader myself of 5 Inch And Up I would describe Sandra’s style as usually smart, always unique and occasionally bohemian and colourful.
Last but not least the famous Rumi Neely. Rumi of http://fashiontoast.com is of Japanese, Dutch and Scottish descent. Her blog has been going since 2008 and is one of the most successful around.I have read that her boyfriend, Colin Sokol has a big part to play in the photography for FashionToast, they use a Canon Xti and Canon 5D Mark II however she also uses an Olympus EP-2 Pen occasionally.

A few weeks late mind, the MTV Video Music Awards are a date on the calendar I always look forward to with admiration and excitement, where ever I am its always a fun night. This year was no different. Selena Gomez looked stunning in her black gothic Julien MacDonald dress as she opened up the pre-show which lead on to Gaga’s memorable opening, which I do not have much to say about except I respect her as a true artist. To be quite honest non of the dresses really made a great impact on me. Apart from Nicki Minaj who just aggravated me. It was only Justin Bieber’s original ensemble that I was able to appreciate, the whole thing just works for me…especially the glasses, however the snake was unneeded! I’d like to hear your views as I think this one you either loved or hated.

Back in February of this year it was my 21st birthday, but as I was away in Italy I haven't had chance to share my greatest present with you. I was given the watch below by Michael Kors and I am so happy with it. However, not being a usual wearer of watches once I received I was a bit confused of how I should wear it and I simply removed all my bracelets and wore it alone.

Ey guys… I know its been such a long time and you are expecting some kind of explanation. Well I have been living in Italy since September and since January I have been travelling around Italy and parts of Europe. I couldn’t fully give myself to the blog. I had to drop out of TAKE10 because I could never determine if I would be home etc…
However… on the 23rd of June (around 2 weeks from today) I will be returning to England…. :) but on the 25th I am going to New York for a week! So expect some amazing posts for when I’m back! I haven’t stopped blogging for good… just this year has been really impossible (internet from a usb stick is such a shit)

Matalan bag challenge

After a long wait due to me being here in Italy, we finally decided on a date for our next challenge, The Tapestry Bowling Bag from MATALAN. I was a bit disappointed with the size, as I think we all were… expected a bowling bag to be a bit larger however I am very happy with it and I am happy to say I have continued to wear it after the challenge many times! I think everyone did a great job with this challenge and after seeing everyone’s images before taking my photo I thought I would be a little different and ditch the colour! I think we can really appreciate the tapestry against the black.

Introducing my favourite Take10 challenge yet! But what could we expect from an item from ASOS.COM!
Even though I am not completely happy with my final photos, I am happy with my outfit and I don’t think the photos do the outfit justice, unfortunately the cape challenge fell at a time where I was between England & Italy and I didn’t have all of my clothes and neither my SLR camera… so maybe now I am back in Italy I will take more photos in the future!

I had never come across American Gold before, it seems all stockists are in the US and Australia unfortunately. I love the background behind the brand as the designer Suzanne Ford Carafano founded American Gold with the desire to create pieces that document her experiences while travelling all over America. Sorry to be soppy, but recently while being in Italy my boyfriend Rob & I have decided to separate unfortunately after 2 years together. Being on ERASMUS has been hard for the both of us and we were just making each other unhappy, Its not easy for me to visit him and as he is in his last most important year at university and has no time either. Its all quite complicated for our young ages and hopefully we can stay friends as he was the perfect boyfriend and I can only describe this situation a shame.

This space is not for the best blog layouts, but the ones that have really stood out to me during my blogging time. Many people ask me about my layout and for me it is one of the most fun aspects of blogging, I have never studied web design but I have always practised it and even did it as work experience whilst at school, this lead to studying photography at college and now media at University, they all connect in their own way. There are some obvious candidates that we can all think of, I want to include the obvious and the less obvious. Layouts that really impress me are the simple ones with no advertisements, I believe advertisements can really ruin a layout and when choosing bloggers for this post I really kept that in mind.

Flattery is a blog that I always remember and it is always immaculate, I spoke with Breane and she told me that the inspiration was from a random photograph she saw on the website. She loves how delicate and pretty paper cranes are, so she decided to add some in to the photo as well as some watercolour techniques because she says watercolour is her art style :) She did this all using a tablet, illustrator and Photoshop.

So you are all probably wondering who this is… after receiving these fabulous equestrian trousers for our next Take10 challenge from Tesco Couture, I was devastated to discover that they did not fit me, after trying many different ways (pinning etc..) I refused to change them for another item because I was really excited so I asked my Spanish housemate Marta to be my model and I think it turned out great!

I also assume you are also wondering why we are all wearing different items this time? Well Tesco got in contact and wanted to try something different… they wanted us to all choose an item for each other! Interesting! Next up: Metallic Jumper – NEXT So… we all had a bit of trouble with this jumper. I personally will never wear this again. I wasn’t happy with any of the outfits I came up with and even this one I think I should have done better! But after I saw everybody else's photos I was so impressed! I really think we worked this one guys! – Good Job!

If you have all been wondering where on earth I have been for the past two weeks or so, the precise location is in fact Cassino, Italy. A small town in central Italy an hour between each Rome & Naples. I am here on the ERASMUS programme, a life long learning programme set up to give university students the opportunity to experience different cultures and learn new languages.

Unfortunately Cassino is not known for its university achievements but instead for its world famous “Abbazia” Monte Cassino. Myself not being a firm believer of anything religious I am not one to get excited about travelling up a mountain to see a famous monastery, however the landscape and not to mention the history behind Monte Cassino is phenomenal.

The Abbey was founded in 529 and is situated at 519 meters above sea level, It has suffered years of destruction and has been reconstructed numerous times. In February 1944 the Abbey was flattened by the Americans & British after hearing the Germans were using the Abbey as hiding, unfortunately the Americans were wrong and many civilians were killed after the Germans had advised them to hide in the Abbey as it would be safe and wouldn’t be affected by battles. This progressed into a long term battle throughout of the whole of Cassino.

The restoration was carried out from 1948 to 1956, it is said to be as close to the original building as possible. The Cassino War Cemeteries are the largest WWII Cemeteries in Italy. The cemetery contains over 5000 grave markers of soldiers that died in battles against the Germany arm. It is the final resting place of the British, New Zealand, Canadian, Indian, Gurkha, South African, French, Italian, Polish, German and American casualties.

On Thursday I met up with one of my favourite bloggers Claire from thejazzpad.com. We went on a nice shopping trip/lunch around my home city Birmingham. We always have a great time together, & this time was no different. Our day included my first experience of Wagamama, travelling up and down numerous escalators, standing outside Forever 21 praying for it to open now lol and having nice chats and making our selves at home with the friendly sales people of The Pop Store. – The photos make it look like a really horrible day! It was actually a lovely warm day and rained for a few minutes whilst we were indoors.

Spending Ban Update – Just a quick update on how I am getting on with the spending ban. I did mention at the bottom of the post that this shopping trip wasn’t included! But I still did quite well… until I reached The Pop Store. £15 brogues from New Look, £16 watch from Urban Outfitters, some tights and a plain jumper from Primark… so far so good. Then I reached The Pop Store got over excited by all the Wildfox and splurged on a £90 sweater… however, in my defence I got £15 student discount making its around £76. I am not going to apologise & I do not feel bad… but I am taking this as my last and final shop. From now on my whole life (as Big Brother is sadly over RIP) will be dedicated to saving money!!

Have faith in me!

financial consequences of the fashion blog

My posts are usually all photos, colleges and clothes, I talk about fashion but rarely go into detail on the financial consequences of being a shopaholic. I have been thinking lately (or panicking) about the amount of money I have been spending on realistically unneeded luxuries in recent weeks. Unfortunately we aren’t all ridiculously rich and can afford numerous amounts of Chanels, realistically the majority of us can’t.. so how do we do it?
What is the real cost of being a fashion blogger? We have to firstly think about how it effects the rise in personal consumption and not forgetting how this is effected by the competitiveness to keep up with other bloggers. As i mentioned earlier the majority of us can’t afford the designer items so it is crazy and unhealthy for bloggers to feel like they must compete with these.

I am a university student, student loans are how I live, last year I had a part time job which helped with money pressure and I had that little bit more freedom. However I had to stop work when I moved back home and haven’t been able to get another due to the fact I’m leaving the country in 2 weeks. Which leaves me in my current predicament.
Once I get my loan it has to last me three months which includes money for rent, food etc. But for some reason my brain incapable in helping me realise this, and suddenly most of my loan has disappeared on unnecessary home ware and closet fillers. My Mom & my Boyfriend get ridiculously angry with me.. it has got to the point where I sneak into town or make sure packages arrive when everyone is out just to avoid the confrontation… maybe its a problem!

SO! This post is that start of my non spending. I am going to start a non-spending diary on here, a journal of how I cope with not being about to spend with all the mishaps on the way. Here are some things that I must remember if I want to succeed:

Labels are no longer important.
Get over Primark & New Look phobia.
If bored turn laptop off… avoid Topshop ASOS websites etc…
Post about old items that haven’t yet been featured.
PASSWORD BLOCK EBAY & ETSY.
Learn how to vintage and thrift shopping works.
Take advantage of sponsors and advertisement offers.
More photography & editorial posts.
Create lots of wishlists

Wish me luck!

Yesterday I headed down to Watford for more of my boyfriend’s 21st birthday celebrations. It feels like he has been celebrating for weeks! However his parents are divorced so the lucky thing got two events. This weekend was a nice BBQ are his dad’s partners place, I just got home really was a fabulous day! The weather wasn’t fantastic but at least it didn’t rain.

Ieri sono andato a Watford per più di celebrazioni 21 ° compleanno del mio ragazzo. Ci si sente come lui ha celebrato per settimane! Comunque i suoi genitori sono divorziati così la cosa fortunato, ma ho due eventi. Questo fine settimana è stato un bel barbecue sono partner di sua padre casa, ho appena tornato a casa era veramente una giornata favolosa! Il tempo non è stato fantastico ma a meno non ha piovuto.

I am not a New Look fan, I believe there items are very predictable and safe. As if they have certain fashion rules they have to follow. I saw these trousers on my cousin's girlfriend recently and I was so surprised but yet at the same time not when she told me she had bought them from New Look. I literally went down the next day to have a look.

This isn’t one of my favourite outfits but I think the trousers look great and yet so comfy! & yes I am wearing the lace waistcoat that was featured in the previous Take10 Project!

What inspired you to start fashion blogging?
My Uncle moved away to New Zealand, and started a blog to show us what New Zealand was like and i've always loved fashion and none of my friends were interested in it as much as I was so I started a blog about a year and three months ago!
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is a mixture really - girly/bohemian/vintage I can't resist a floral dress and embellished headband!
What is your favourite highstreet store and which do you dislike the most and why?
My favourite would have to be H&M it's such good pricing and whenever I go in I buy a couple of things! And the items last for years, what more do you need from a high street store? My least favourite would be Primark, everyone looks the same and when you go inside it feels like a sweatshop and i've heard the prices are increasing a lot in there too!
What's your favourite item of clothing for A/W 10?
Khaki Shorts! I really love them and they look great with lace tights, plain tights and even bare legs when it's a nice day outside!
How do you feel about replica items for those who can’t afford or refuse to pay?
I think they are a good idea when they are priced reasonably and are made from good material! There's nothing worse than seeing a really nice jacket which is a replica from a catwalk but made with poor material and turns out see through!
How do you feel about shopping online?
I love it - suppose you could say i'm an online shopping addict really. I love a lot of online stores (missguided, linzi shoes, asos & my1st wish) I really like how you can buy the exact item sold in somewhere like Topshop for £30 cheaper!
What are your aspirations for life? (Work wise)
I would love to be a fashion journalist, but I like the idea of a fashion stylist too!

It was my boyfriend’s 21st birthday this week so I haven’t been online to reply to comments unfortunately. I’m wearing my new jacket that I bought after seeing the shearling jackets in Burberry’s Fall Collection, I didn’t anticipate the aviator/biker jacket look appealing to me but I am very excited about it. The ones below are fabulous especially the first, and for a while I have been looking for a simpler more subtle version (& of course cheaper) for a while and at £58 this Topshop piece was more than perfect.

Living in Nottingham, I have to confess I do own many clothes from the infamous Jack Wills, however I have to deal with the connotations that come with shopping there… I can not help but love some of their over priced items. Luckily there is an American Apparel next door to Jack Wills which tends to get the pleasure of my attendance more often.

How do you guys feel about shopping in Jack Wills?
& is it fair to be stereotyped for the shops you choose to shop in?

Actors didn`t use to be celebrities. A hundred years ago, they put the theatres next to the brothels. Actors were poor. Celebrities used to be kings and queens. Then the United States abolished monarchy, and now there`s this coming together of show business and celebrity. I don`t think it`s healthy. I don`t want to sound self-important, but all these celebrity shows and magazines - it comes from us, from Hollywood, from our country. We`re the ones creating it. And I think it works in close step with a lot of other bad things that are happening in the world. It promotes greed, it promotes being selfish and it promotes this ladder, where you`re a better person if you have more money. It`s not at all about the work itself. Don`t get me wrong. I love movies. But this myth of celebrity has nothing to do with movies.

Those of you who read my blog regularly will know that I have a keen interest in photography as I studied it for two years before university. However I rarely include photography in my posts. Deaja Fallas is a female photographer with whom I have recently fallen in love with. The above editorial named ‘Till Dawn’ blew my breath away, I adore the out of focus and motion blur effects that make the shots so unique.

Daeja was born in Hawaii and raised on the beaches of Maui and Oahu. Growing up surfing with her dad and looking through fashion magazines with her mom Daeja was always encouraged to dream. After high school Daeja left Hawaii to pursue a degree in French Literature at the Sorbonne Paris IV in France. She is currently residing in New York City spending summers with her family in Hawaii.
I asked Daeja to send me a little about what inspires and this is what she said:

"It changes day to day. I am inspired by a color or a sound, a song a person, a dress, it can be anything really. I find inspiration most when I open my eyes to the world around me, when I am truly open to seeing what is beautiful. There is beauty everywhere you look if you are open to it. As a photographer, I am able to capture things as I see them, or as I dream them and am able to share that vision with others."

So to my horror I noticed my Mom trying to throw this lovely sequin top away the other day, I never look through my Mom’s wardrobe as I never think I will find anything but when I saw this I demanded it be mine!! So paired it with a recently American Apparel purchase for my summer holidays (which is the 27th by the way for 2 weeks). Don’t know if you can tell but I’ve also had my hair done, a lot darker and a general clean up. - I am off to see Inception now as Leonardo is my actual love.

Quindi, per il mio orrore ho notato la mia mamma cercando di lanciare questo bel top di paillettes via l'altro giorno, non ho mai guardare attraverso armadio di mia madre come mai penso di trovare qualcosa ma quando ho visto questo ho chiesto che sarebbe la mia! Così è accoppiato con un recente acquisto di American Apparel per le mie vacanze estive (che è il 27 con per 2 settimane). Non so se si può dire, ma ho anche avuto i miei capelli fatto, molto più scuro e una pulizia generale up.

Still don’t have a union jack type of wall hanging above my bed! I’m still searching! I had to go down to London this week, my boyfriend has just had his wisdom teeth out so went to keep him company whilst he is handicapped haha.

So if you have been wondering where on the earth I have been, so I was working full time in Nottingham till the end of June went my rent was up and since then I have been very busy moving back home for the summer and as all my stuff will be back for two years now due to my year abroad in Italy, I really wanted my room to be redecorated and throw all my old junk away and make room for my university stuff! Been very busy as of late due to working full time, moving back home, visiting the boyfriend and decorating my room (painting everything white! John Lennon style!) So I apologise for the lack of real posts. The good news is I went summer shopping so I have many items to share with you just they are all sprung around the house due to decorating so I don’t know where they are or have the time!

My new maxi dress from boohoo.com, I don’t usually shop there but when I noticed this maxi dress for just £20, I had no excuse, I totally recommend you having a look… they have some great wildfox inspired tees! This is my fist maxi dress purchase because I am very short (4’11 actually) and I have always just assumed they would be way to long and I didn’t want to hack at anything but this surprisingly fits okay! I am not totally into the clogs with them but I paired it was an old ASOS leather jacket.

I think me making a grungy type collage defeats the object of my argument when it comes Dr Martens. I really want some. Like really. I love looking through old photos yesterday. I was looking through my old fashion blog from around 2007 and I think its interesting to see how my style has changed over the past few years.

Funnily enough I still wear that blazer an awful lot! it seems I used to straighten my hair more regularly then also. That first outfit was what I was planning on wearing to a summer wedding. I did not end up wearing it because I only liked the outfit with the blazer and it was way to hot. Also the those shoes are horrific very glad I sent them back! I look very moody and seems I liked that area of my garden haha!
So here are some of my recent outfits which allows you to compare! :)

italian - Mi piace guardare attraverso vecchie foto di ieri. Stavo guardando il mio vecchio fashion blog di circa 2007 e penso che sia interessante vedere come il mio stile è cambiato negli ultimi anni.

Caso strano, mi portano ancora che blazer molto! sembra che ho usato per raddrizzare i miei capelli più regolare, anche. Questo abito prima era quello che stavo pensando di portare a un matrimonio estivo. Io non finire che lo indossa solo perché mi piaceva la tuta con la giacca ed è stato modo di caldo. Anche le scarpe sono orribili quelle molto contento che ho inviato indietro! Guardo molto lunatico e sembra mi piaceva quella zona del mio giardino, haha!

The necklace if quite simple but I bought it from the gift shop at the top of Mt Snowdon so it is quite cool! Hope everyone if okay!

History of Jeans

The word Jeans originated from a rare type of material used in Europe, the material named 'Jean’ was named after Italian sailors in Genoa as they were the first to use the material as part of their uniforms, consequently the name ‘jeans’ comes from the French phrase bleu de Gênes, literally meaning blue of Genoa. Initially jeans were sturdy and appropriate for workers, it was in the 1930s when western movies created popularity for jeans as cowboys often wore them, it was common for eastern Americans to vacate to the west and were sure to bring back some denim overalls.

It wasn't till the 1940s when Levi Strauss had to complete with different companies such as Wrangler and Lee after the soldiers in World War II made them popular again. Jeans started to become popular with the younger teen generation in the 1960s and was becoming more acceptable, new styles of jeans started to develop to keep up with the evolving fashions. However in non western parts of America jeans were still firmly associated with the west. Everywhere else they were a symbol of teenage rebels in movies with such characters played by the likes of James Dean. Some schools even banned students from wearing jeans because of their connotations.

The denim and textiles industry revolutionised in the 1980s and the sale of jeans went up and up when they finally became high fashion clothing and designers started to create their own designs with their own names on them. Since then jeans are no longer known as a fashion statement but a necessity and they will continue to develop in shape and size through years to come.

Hope everyone is well and your exams are going okay. I have one more left now… 8th of June Cinema Studies on the topic of 1980s British Cinema.. So I am watching Trainspotting as we speak! Ewan Mcgregor is fantastic!

This is what I wore to an Elton John concert Saturday night, I am not a big Elton fan but he owns half of my boyfriends life long football team Watford, and they are rubbish and are almost bankrupt so Elton John played to raise money. Sorry that this isn’t an interesting post been really busy recently with exams and work! However I am going back to my parents house for a week on Monday, much deserved rest from Nottingham even through i'll be revising for this cinema studies exam the entire time, apart from Thursday as my Dad has a dream to climb Mt. Snowdon in Wales and well I have agreed to accompany him! Wish me luck!

In other news it has been a bleak Friday & Saturday, temperatures reaching an insane 28°C whilst I repressively found ways of keeping cool and revising for an immensely boring cultural studies exam on Monday. However I created reasons to leave the house. I sacked off revision at about 5pm today to drink Pimms in the sun with a friend.

This is what I wore throughout the weekend, any excuse for shorts and sunglasses I say.. these are not the best photos of me. My boyfriend thinks the first photo is hilarious and says it looks like I am going back packing haha! How do you like my new vintage Levi' shorts that I brought from COW a while back?

Yesterdays makeup

Ignore the most horrendous photo of me in last nights makeup with my hair not done and my room embarrassingly messy!

I convinced myself to buy the Henry Holland Super Suspender tights after my last post, unfortunately as trying them on for the first time I noticed a couple of holes and a ladder down the back :( So I’m going to have to send them back :( Hope they replace them & don’t think I wore them and did it my self!

I have had too much work to blog properly right now but I am trying! Those who follow me on twitter will know that I had my last Italian exam yesterday! Its sad really… no more Italian lectures till after my year in Italy! Scary!

After my exam my boyfriend took me for a much needed and well deserved trip into Nottingham for a little bit of shopping and I purchased these beauty bits; I was quite weary about spending £8 on this topshop lipstick as I know makeup isn’t there speciality but I want along and invested anyway to my boyfriends horror! However I thought 3 large nail varnishes for £12 in American Apparel was great especially as I got to choose the colours!

Short post… (Well I had intended… took me along time to make this collage!) Easter really was a silly time for me to reopen my blog… exams start next month & I have so much coursework so unfortunately I'm going to be slow with the old posting. Ill still be here though, so don’t think I have disappeared! I have so many ideas for my blog I just really don’t have time right now to update every day!

This is a collage of my current fashion inspirations, they may not necessarily follow any trends but its what I'm loving right now and you will see how i incorporate all these into my future outfit posts. I’m really loving the 1980s at the moment and the American high school sports look.. baseball jackets etc… I’m loving lace, birds, studs and huge eyelashes! You’ll notice a lot of Wildfox I adore it!

I believe that you can tell a lot about a person from their bedroom, so as I returned back to Nottingham yesterday (Nottingham is where I study, its about an hour from my family home) and once I had unpacked I thought I would share with you my Nottingham bedroom. I love this room, and unfortunately I will be moving out in June as I have a placement year in Italy. Which reminds me, I just wondered if any of you have ever visited Cassino in Italy… As that is where I will be spending my year and I know nothing about it! So if any of you could give me any information about Cassino I would really appreciate it!

I don’t think I will have much time to do many fashion posts, exams start next month and my Mother and Boyfriend are clamping down on my online shopping addiction… I’m not a rich student. My parents are averagely working class and I have a minimum wage job so I end up buying fake designer items all the time. I bought a replica Balenciaga Part-Time bag for £150 and I love it! (Don’t judge!) Its real leather and I am so happy with it! I will post a photo soon so you lot can judge for yourself.
How do you lot feel about expensive good quality replicas for people who are unable to afford the originals? Anybody else invested?
I’ve just ordered Replica Miu Miu Satin Black Platform slingbacks as seen on fashiontoast.com. I paid £140 for them. I will post about them when they arrive. Thanks for your comments everyone!

As promised, here is a picture of my most recent tattoo. It may be small and pathetic but it has private importance to me and also is quite cute. I am a very big fan of tattoos, as mentioned in my last post and I'm glad to know i am not the only Miami Ink addict around here! This being so, I was totally into how Chanel incorporated tattoos into their Spring 2010 runway in Paris. Models were covered in tattoos that included the signature Chanel double C logo along with a variety of different lace and beaded designs. These retail at $78, I won’t be investing. But one day I'd love to have similar. I’ve posted some of my favourite below.
Anyone have any tattoos? I would love to see them!

I bought these booties from Chantal at cocorosa as she had only worn them a few times and I love them, I completely recommend buying from her as shipping was super fast.
It was a really nice day in England today, therefore coats, hats and gloves were unusually unneeded, superb! My necklaces are from a hand made jeweller on eBay, I don’t have the store URL right now but I can get it for anyone who wants it, they were reasonably cheap.

Today I accompanied my aunty whilst getting her tattoo. I have a fascination with tattoos that I do not understand, I have two small ones (that I might include in my next post) and I thoroughly enjoy Miami Ink. Anyone else a fan?

England isn’t so bad after all…

I spent a short amount of time in Bude, Cornwall this Easter with my boyfriend and his family. It was very cold but sure had some amazing views! Living in the centre of England means I don’t get to see the ocean often so it was nice. It was a fun trip and gave me good reason to bring out my Hunter wellies! I still have just under two weeks left of my Easter break, and I'm loving the stress-free life!

This is my second attempt.
I did reasonably well last time in fairness, I then went to Italy for the summer and moved away from home to university, therefore blogging was the last thing on my mind. Fresher year passed and now I am mid way through my second year preparing myself for an ERASMUS year abroad programme in Italy.

I study Media Studies with Italian at Nottingham Trent University, and i thoroughly enjoy it. My media studies modules concentrate on popular culture rather than media practises. They include Gender & Sexuality in Popular Culture, Theorising & Analysing Culture and Cinema Studies and with Italian, my mother is Italian so I have an interest in the language and culture.

I work part-time as a Website Content Administrator and Photographer at a pharmacy business in Nottingham which I feel very fortunate for.

I feel that I need to enter the blogging world once again as having studied photography for 2 years after finishing school, my writing skills need improving. This isn’t a fashion blog, i believe I love spending money rather than love fashion. I plan to write of my inspirations, popular culture, photography, fashion and film as well as this I will blog in Italian also as practise in this area is also needed.
